WHO 6th edition defines a normal concentration as 16 Million Sperms Per mL or higher. Lower values (Oligozoospermia) may indicate varicocele, hormonal imbalances, or lifestyle stress.
Sperm must swim "progressively" to reach the egg. A normal Progressive Motility (PR) threshold is 30%. Reduced motility (Asthenozoospermia) often relates to high oxidative stress or infection.
Morphology measures the percentage of sperm with perfect shape. The WHO standard is 4% "strict" morphology. Values below this (Teratozoospermia) suggest advanced IVF (ICSI) may be needed.
